What is the Phone Number Format in Hong Kong?

Most phone numbers in Hong Kong are written in the following formats:

   Prefix: long distance or international

  +852     SSSS SSSS    - International format

Most telephone numbers in Hong Kong have 8 digits and are written in the format of "SSSS SSSS". Here are some examples: 2181 8888; 3008 3642.

When dialing locally inside Hong Kong, dial the phone number directly as "SSSS SSSS". Long distance prefix is not needed.

When dialing from outside of Hong Kong, the international dial-in prefix "+852" is required. So the format becomes "+852 SSSS SSSS".

When dialing from Hong Kong to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "001" required.
