Most phone numbers in Romania are written in the following formats:

Most telephone numbers in Romania have 9 digits and are written in the format of "AA SSS SSSS". Here are some examples: 21 204 1000; 31 403 5600.

When dialing locally inside Romania, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 AA SSS SSSS".

When dialing from outside of Romania, the international dial-in prefix "+40" is required. So the format becomes "+40 AA SSS SSSS".

When dialing from Romania to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
