Prefix: long distance or international -------------------------------------- | Carrier or area code | -------------------- | | Subscriber number | | ----------------- v v v 0 A SSS SSSS - Local format +886 A SSS SSSS - International format
Most telephone numbers in Taiwan have 8 digits and are written in the format of "A SSS SSSS". Here are some examples: 3 398 3274; 3 351-6805.
When dialing locally inside Taiwan, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 A SSS SSSS".
When dialing from outside of Taiwan, the international dial-in prefix "+886" is required. So the format becomes "+886 A SSS SSSS".
When dialing from Taiwan to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00x" required.
