1. The total number of messages saved on your phone is related to the phone storage. Touch > Settings > SD card & phone storage > Internal phone storage.

2. A thread can contain up to 999 text messages. By default, a thread contains 200 text messages on your phone. To set the text messages in a thread: Touch Messaging > > Settings > Text message limit, and then set the text message limit.
