iPhone - Apple Watch - Does the Apple Watch have Wi-Fi?

Q

A

Yes, Apple Watch features a built-in Wi-Fi radio (802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz). This means Apple Watch can connect to Wi-Fi networks.

One highlight of built-in Wi-fi on the Apple Watch is connectivity with an iPhone. While an iPhone is normally paired with Apple Watch over Bluetooth, this limits the connection to a maximum distance of approximately 100 feet.

When Apple Watch and its paired iPhone are both on the same Wi-Fi network, they will remain connected even when Bluetooth is out of range. This effectively extends the maximum range to the Wi-Fi network coverage area.
