Camera Video Recording Speed - 30 fps
How to measure camera video recording speed? What does a 30 fps video recording mean?
✍: FYIcenter.com
Camera video recording speed is measured by the number of frames
it takes per second: fps (Frame Per Second).
The standard camera video recording speed today can be:
24 fps, 30 fps, 60 fps, 120 fps or 240 fps.
Of course, a camera with a higher video recording speed is better. If you have phone camera that has recording speed of 240 fps, you can shoot some highlights as a sport event and play it back at 30 fps to watch the highlights in slow motion (8 times slower).
But recording videos with high fps number will require large storages. For example, if you are recording at 240 fps speed and 1920×1080 pixels per frame. Each frame will require about 250 KB storage using MJPEG format. A 1-minute video will require: 60 * 240 * 250 KB = 3,600,000 KB = 3.6 GB.
