Prefix: long distance or international -------------------------------------- | Carrier or area code | -------------------- | | Subscriber number | | ----------------- v v v 8 AAAA SS-SS-SS - Local format +7 AAAA SS-SS-SS - International format
Most telephone numbers in Kazakhstan have 10 digits and are written in the format of "AAAA SS-SS-SS". Here are some examples: 7172 70-21-00; 7772 58-48-79.
When dialing locally inside Kazakhstan, the long distance prefix of "8" is required. So the format becomes "8 AAAA SS-SS-SS".
When dialing from outside of Kazakhstan, the international dial-in prefix "+7" is required. So the format becomes "+7 AAAA SS-SS-SS".
When dialing from Kazakhstan to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "810" required.
