Most phone numbers in Germany are written in the following formats:

   Prefix: long distance or international

Most telephone numbers in Germany have 10 digits and are written in the format of "AA SSS SSS SS". Here are some examples: 89 975 214 75; 69 690 785 78.

When dialing locally inside Germany, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 AA SSS SSS SS".

When dialing from outside of Germany, the international dial-in prefix "+49" is required. So the format becomes "+49 AA SSS SSS SS".

When dialing from Germany to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
