Frame Capture Rate of Time-Lapse Video with iPhone
How to determine the frame capture rate of a time-lapse video taken with my iPhone camera?
✍: FYIcenter.com
The frame capture rate of a time-lapse video taken with my iPhone camera dynamically determined by the camera based on the total duration of the recording time.
The longer of the recording time is, the lower frame capture rate you will get in the final video. The table below shows you how the frame rate is calculated (source: studioneat.com):
Recording Duration | Frame Capture Rate | Speed Relative to Real Time |
Less than 10 minutes | 2 frames every second | 15x |
10 minutes to 20 minutes | 1 frame every second | 30x |
20 minutes to 40 minutes | 1 frame every 2 seconds | 60x |
40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes | 1 frame every 4 seconds | 120x |
1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes | 1 frame every 8 seconds | 240x |
Note that the play back frame rate is always 30 fps.
