✍: FYIcenter.com
Most phone numbers in Nepal are written in the following formats:
Prefix: long distance or international -------------------------------------- | Carrier or area code | -------------------- | | Subscriber number | | ----------------- v v v 0 A SSS SSSS - Local format 0 AA SSS SSS - Local format +977 A SSS SSSS - International format +977 AA SSS SSS - International format
Most telephone numbers in Nepal have 8, 8 digits and are written in the format of "A SSS SSSS", "AA SSS SSS". Here are some examples: 1 411 3045; 1 411 3033; 29 575 225; 44 317 070.
When dialing locally inside Nepal, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 A SSS SSSS", "0 AA SSS SSS".
When dialing from outside of Nepal, the international dial-in prefix "+977" is required. So the format becomes "+977 A SSS SSSS", "+977 AA SSS SSS".
When dialing from Nepal to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
