Most phone numbers in Bangladesh are written in the following formats:

   Prefix: long distance or international
   --------------------------------------
   | Carrier or area code
   | --------------------
   | | Subscriber number
   | | -----------------
   v v v

0 AAAA SSSSSS - Local format
  +880 A SSSS SSSS - International format
+880 AAAA SSSSSS - International format

Most telephone numbers in Bangladesh have 9, 10 digits and are written in the format of "A SSSS SSSS", "AAAA-SSSSSS". Here are some examples: 2 4135 0100; 2 4135 0110; 1822-991111; 1974-444555.

When dialing locally inside Bangladesh, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 A SSSS SSSS", "0 AAAA-SSSSSS".

When dialing from outside of Bangladesh, the international dial-in prefix "+880" is required. So the format becomes "+880 A SSSS SSSS", "+880 AAAA-SSSSSS".

When dialing from Bangladesh to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
