Most phone numbers in Guatemala are written in the following formats:

   Prefix: long distance or international
   --------------------------------------
   | Carrier or area code

   | | Subscriber number

           SSSS SSSS - Local format
+502 SSSS SSSS - International format

Most telephone numbers in Guatemala have 8 digits and are written in the format of "SSSS SSSS". Here are some examples: 5054 6326; 2321 5303.

When dialing locally inside Guatemala, dial the phone number directly as "SSSS SSSS". Long distance prefix is not needed.

When dialing from outside of Guatemala, the international dial-in prefix "+502" is required. So the format becomes "+502 SSSS SSSS".

When dialing from Guatemala to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
