Most phone numbers in Thailand are written in the following formats:
Prefix: long distance or international -------------------------------------- | Carrier or area code | -------------------- | | Subscriber number | | ----------------- v v v 0 A SSS-SSSS - Local format +66 A SSS-SSSS - International format
Most telephone numbers in Thailand have 8 digits and are written in the format of "A SSS-SSSS". Here are some examples: 2 356-1111; 2 134-7795;.
When dialing locally inside Thailand, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 A SSS-SSSS".
When dialing from outside of Thailand, the international dial-in prefix "+66" is required. So the format becomes "+66 A SSS-SSSS".
When dialing from Thailand to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
