How to Transfer Contacts to Your Palm Pre from Microsoft Outlook -Select the Location to Which You'd Like to Transfer Your Data
✍: Guest
When you disconnect your Palm Pre from your computer, a message will appear on your phone asking where you'd like to send your data. Your options are: "Google or Exchange Account" or "My Palm Profile."
Palm's Web site has some very useful information that you should read if you're not sure which of these options to choose. But here are a few pointers:
Google Account: This allows you to access your data wherever you have Web access, but it requires a free Google Account. (If you have Gmail, you already have a Google Account. And if you have a Gmail account that's already set up on your Palm Pre, you'll be able to transfer your data right to that account.)
Microsoft Exchange: You can only use this option if your company offers Microsoft Exchange with Outlook Web Access. If you're not sure, ask your IT department at work.
Palm Profile: This is, essentially, just a backup of your data. You can access it from your phone, but only from your phone, and all edits to the information must be made there.
