Windows Phone 8 Basics - What are Fast Cards?
✍: Guest
Fast Cards are a way for you to make NFC transactions quickly—exactly how quickly is up to you. If you have a card that you use often, you can set it up as a Fast Card. Then, in Wallet settings, you can change how easily you want to be able to access that card. For example, if you want to be able to tap an NFC reader to pay for something even when your phone is locked, you can change the Fast Card settings to do just that. You can also change the settings to allow NFC payments only when the phone is unlocked, or only when the Wallet is open.
Fast Cards only work with phones that support NFC transactions. If your phone and mobile operator do not, you won't see any Fast Cards options in Wallet or Settings.
