A

By default, the Phone app on your iPhone uses the built-in earphone with weak voices for phone calls. This requires you to hold your iPhone to your ear to be able to hear what your friend is saying.

But your iPhone also has a built-in loud speaker that produces much strong voices. Here are the correct steps to use loud speaker with Phone app on your iPhone.

1. Ask Mike to call you again.

2. Tap on "Accept". You should see the Phone all displaying converstation options:

  • mute - Mutes the microphone so your friend, Mike, can not hear anything from iPhone. This option useful to put Mike on hold while you are talking to someone else in your room.
  • keypad - Displays a keypad for you to respond with automated phone systems for transferring to an extension, or a menu option.
  • speaker - Switches to the built-in loud speaker or back to the built-in earphone.
  • add call - Allows to dial another phone number to start a conference call.
  • FaceTime - Swiches to video call, if Mike is also using an iPhone.

3. Move our iPhone away from your ear and tap "speaker". You can hear Mike's voice getting much louder now.

4. Put your iPhone on the table to free up our hands while taking to Mike.
