Windows XP Connection Problem with Samsung Phone

Q

Samsung phone doesn't mount, is not recognized as mass storage, and cannot be found by Windows Media Player (I am running the latest version). Why not and what can I do about it? (Please speak English, I barely know what a USB is).

So, do you see Removable disk in My Computer after you select mount? What happens when you select mount on the phone? On my Vibrant, I have it set to Mass storage in Settings >Applications > USB Settings. Might want to check that setting and try it if different

I am guessing that you are choosing mount on the phone. That's the first step.

Also, what operating system (OS) (XP, Vista, Windows 7 and is it 32bit or 64bit). If you aren't sure, the start button for XP is a green oval with the word 'Start' on it. Vista and 7 have a blue circle with Windows flag. If you have the blue circle (called Windows Pearl) click it and then right-click 'Computer'. Now choose Properties. On the screen, it should tell you the operating system and whether it is 32bit or 64 bit.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. When I choose mount on the phone, the OS opens the folder automatically for the the SD card and assigns a letter and the phones internal storage and assigns the next letter after the SD card. It should show the SD and internal storage as removable disk. Do you see anything like that?
